Why I am limiting use of ai in my writing?

Why I am limiting use of ai in my writing?

When I started writing on Medium, it was my very first attempt to be open to the world. Today, after writing on more than 50 apps and 135 blog posts, just before publish now I am having the same feeling as of day one.

In preparing for this post, I revisited some of my early writings. To my surprise, I felt a wave of positive nostalgia. It was a reminder of how far I’ve come and how my writing has evolved. Today, with AI assistance available in nearly every app I use, I find myself relying on it for research, drafting, and fine-tuning my work. Not excessively, but just enough to feel like I’m losing my authentic voice.

AI isn’t just helpful for note-taking; it can also assist in scheduling your day, prioritizing tasks, and even crafting poetry. My intention isn’t to completely eliminate AI from my toolkit, but to limit its use. And here’s why:

The Joy of Being Authentic

There’s an unparalleled joy that comes from knowing that every word, every sentence is purely mine. Writing without AI helps me maintain the authenticity of my voice, making my work genuinely unique.

Upgrading My Skills as a Writer

By consciously limiting AI assistance, I challenge myself to grow. Crafting each piece independently sharpens my skills and provides a profound sense of accomplishment.

Becoming a Better Thinker

Writing without AI forces me to think more deeply and critically. It enhances my cognitive abilities and helps me become a better thinker, which in turn enriches my writing.

In Summary

AI can be a helpful ally, but it should never replace the human touch that makes writing so special. The process of crafting each piece independently sharpens my skills, provides a profound sense of accomplishment, and enriches my work with authenticity and depth.

As I continue on my writing journey, I choose to prioritize my unique voice and personal growth over the convenience of AI. Because in the end, it’s this authentic connection that truly resonates with readers.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of rediscovering the art of writing. I am ready to embrace the challenges, celebrate the victories, and continue to create works that are deeply, authentically mine.

To do so; I am planning to read and write more and more. I think that is the first thing I need to do.

And also, I will go-back to old school for ideation and outline part — a pen and paper. One more idea which I am already working with is to use a writing app without any ai assistance. As of now, that part is done with Scrintal.

Let me see, how this idea grows in due time.

Thank you for reading.

Keep reading, Keep sharing.

Stay Productive,

Astu.
