I am the planning guy. In the entire productivity framework — planning part and note-taking part excites me the most and my eyes are continuously searching for the tools that helps me in this framework.

  • Been using Routine as my go to planner and enjoying it thoroughly and exploring the other key players in this space, Here I am with my first impressions of Sunsama.

The Idea

  • Loved the app and every interaction with it.
  • The core idea of Sunsama is to bring all the elements of your tasks and events and give you a space to design your day and week, your priorities and objectives are always in front of you.
  • And this is too without being pushy, a well-thoughtful design, very intuitive UI/UX.

Top 5 Features that makes Sunsama Special:

  • 1. Daily Planning

Sunsama is one the few app which helps you clearly defining your priorities, it helps you plan your day step by step and ensure the best use of your day.

  • 2.Timeboxing

An useful idea of assign a duration to the task on hand, Sunsama helps you find the right time slot for the task.

3. Integrations — Project & Tasks

  • This is where I fall in love with Sunsama, a unified view of your tasks from Todoist, Emails, Notion or Asana.
  • You can pull in your tasks from Todoist, Asana, Trello, Notion, Clickup and many others and drag and drop in your planner.

4. Integrations — Email

  • You can integrate Google & Outlook both email account and create time for working on important emails directly inside Sunsama.

5. Calendar Sync

  • All your Google & Outlook calendar can be integrated here and Sunsama bi-directionally sync with it.

Bonus & the best one is Weekly Objective

  • One of the core idea which I wanted to built in my system is ‘weekly objective and review’
  • Sunsama has a dedicated space for your weekly objectives and you can plan week inline with it and keep reviewing the same, an excellent and thoughtful idea.

Final thoughts:

Sunsama is the best planner, it allow user to plan priorities and stay focused throughout the day and week. For me, the integration with Todoist & Notion with ability to sync email and work on it inside Sunsama is something special and I am looking forward to make best use of the 2 weeks trial period.

The pricing is on the higher side and I want to make sure that it is worth the experience and usability before committing for long-term.
