I am sure, it is not what you think!

By now you must be knowing that I love taking notes and I am a slow learner, to focus on any specific idea of topic I need to write it down or else my mind keeps walking on.

And more or less I am settled on 2 apps for all my note-taking needs

Mem.ai

Craft.do

This is not the blog on why 2 different apps and what is the specific use case of it, that is the topic for some other day.

Recently while preparing for my management review meeting, I realise the importance of this simple and most effective tool and I am sure of that you all have used and been using this.

📑 & ✏️

Yes, your partner from childhood.

A paper and pencil

I am really surprised, that it took quite a lot time to understand and appreciate this tool.

What makes this the most productive?

A blank paper with pencil is what enables me to think clearly, bring my complete focus to the subject.

How?

This simple tool removes all the friction of opening the apps, add new notes, tag etc.

There is absolutely no distance between the thought and notes, it feels super confident.

No learning curve

No apps, network

Straight from your head to page

To be absolutely clear here; I happen to try, appreciate and using many of the apps, system and looking forward to keep using them.

But when it come to clearing my head with any specific idea or topic; I have better results with a paper and pencil.

I am trying to go 100% digital with respect to my note-taking and mostly I am successful as well, however I always carry handful blank paper and pencil.

It is for me;

a simple trigger to think clearly with complete focus.

Try it for yourself; I am sure you will enjoy the experience.

Sit with a blank paper and pencil and empty your mind.

I would love to share more of my experience with analog note-taking.

Till then,

Thanks for reading.

Keep reading, keep sharing.
