Why do we take notes?

For me, the reasons are:

  • To better understand the subject
  • To stay focused
  • To build knowledge
  • To use it as a reference material

How best your notes can help you?

Isn’t it great if your relevant notes surface by itself in the sidebar while you are working on similar project or idea? — Sound Great, Right.

That’s the UPdate from Mem.ai along with few more — Hello 2022.

1. A major design overhaul by team Mem.ai,

completely redesigned UI experience which enhance user experience and one of the major visible change.

what an Idea and Execution!

Earlier in the sidebar, generally we use to have title or same topic tags but now you can see there are all the related Mems, right in front of you at your service.

Another whey to support you to re-discover and use your knowledge and notes.

Not only that, you can hover over to the related Mem and have a preview of the content without moving out from the main canvas.

Also now we expand, swipe and resize the panels with ease and offers us a much better views and navigation.

3. All new sidebar:

Not only a visible change but also an added feature where all your ‘topic tags’ lives and surface automatically to the topics.

Improves user experience and navigation.

4. iOS app – Beta now in testflight

A much awaited iOS app is now in testflight. Go to mem.ai/ios to join the Beta.

Here is the quick overview:

Yes, it’s Dark Mode.

You will be greeted with you recent activities, suggestions and events (linked with Calendar)

Once you go for note-taking, a new note with basic editor options like:

Heading, bulleted list, task list, topic tags, and pictures to include from your photos will appear to help you with the note-taking.

So far the experience with iOS app in general for note-taking and viewing is fine but I think the Mem.ai team is working towards making it better, much better.

In a nutshell, a quote from the Mem.ai newsletter which defines the team mission in a best way:

our mission of building the world’s first self-organizing workspace

And it looks like, they are truly moving in that direction.

Kudos to team at Mem.ai for this update and wishing you all the best.
