as your notes tells a lot about yourself!

Your notes shows your interests, thoughts, dream and above all you!

As an Individual character!

Let us look at the my top 5 reasons of note-taking, necessity and benefits!

1. Don’t ignore any idea or thoughts

  • We, Humans are thinking animal and that’s blessing in disguise.
  • Thinking or generation of ideas are not linear and can be evolve at any time, any where.
  • Keep capturing your ideas, thoughts — those are the seeds and collection of those seeds will surely bring clarity in ‘what you are’ and ‘what can you be’
  • As our financial guru’s says: start investing early! likewise, start capturing ideas and thoughts early as this will serve you with benefits of compounding interest.
  • Keep a journal/inbox, where you can penned down yourself. It can be in any form or media but note-taking in digital form is better as it offers searchability, ease of use, notes by topics and tags etc.

2. Build on ‘idea’ that stick to your head for sometime

  • We are an idea factory and keep producing, storing it in our head.
  • If any specific idea is sticking to your head for sometime, give it a try!
  • Make efforts to work on it and don’t worry if you have too many things to work on: as in the recent read ‘the Psychology of Money’ by Morgan Housel — quotes in Tails, you win:
You can be wrong half the time and still make a fortune!

3. Keep it simple

  • Note-taking is not about aesthetics or creating good looking notes.
  • It is more about getting started and building your own style.
  • Do not try on developing perfect note-taking system, what works for you is just fine.
  • Do not imitate the influencer, only you can make your own style and system, tools are there to just help you.
  • Notes can be anything — notes from books you are reading, meeting notes, tweets that touches your heart, quotes, ideas to work on etc.

4. Give it some time, Build your ‘workflow’

  • It is really difficult to commit (yes, to any system or tool) for a period of time as this world has new tools and system to offer every now and then.
  • We can easily be distracted with this ‘updates and offering’
  • Once you getting start, give your system sometime to evolve and be as customized as an Individual you are!

5. Make it a daily ritual.

  • Seat with yourself, your thoughts — everyday, for 10 minutes at least.
  • Penned down it in any form, you can.
  • Do not judge or assess it, write it down.
  • This will create free space in your mind — you will be able to think with clarity and focus.

For me, personally. I am committed to following two note-taking apps:

  1. Mem.ai — super light, fast and distraction less writing experience
  2. Bear app — minimal, simple and yet powerful note-taking (Only Apple Ecosystem)

Exploring the most beautifully designed app, Craft.do. (Only Apple Ecosystem, however web app is coming soon)
